As we all know, renovation projects are never really come to an end, but we're finally putting some finishing touches on the coach house, as we've just put shutters on the large garage windows, as well as juliet balconies across the second floor french doors. It now looks similar to the gingerbread house that I imagined when we bought the property in 2002; even though it was very run down back then, I fell in love with the coach house at first sight, and much of the decision to buy the larger house was driven by the potentially cute little brick building in the back yard. As with our house and the inside of the studios, our friend Donald Klinock chose the colors and design, and all credit goes to him for picking the very pretty green which sets off the coach house, compliments the house and blends so nicely with the garden.
Speaking of the garden, I must also mention our friend Patrick Hoyne, who is as wonderful with all things green as Donald is with all things interior. Patrick has brought the back yard from a rather frightening moonscape to an oasis of lovliness in a remarkably short time, and I can only say this about our own garden because I take no credit for it, Patrick is solely responsible. It does make me happy every day though, and I realise that we're lucky to have such tolerant/ talented friends!
Lacking talent but compensating in enthusiasm, both Teddy and Speck try to lend a hand/ paw re garden maintenance.
